Lexie French - Fund Raising/PR

A native of Idaho Falls, Lexie French graduated from Bonneville High School many, many years ago. She was active in drama in high school, but she took a 30 year break before she became active in ARTI.
She graduated from Idaho State University with a BA in history and English. She taught at Skyline High School for 30 years before retiring three years ago. She was active in the Idaho Falls Education Association, serving as President and Chief Negotiator. She was President of the Idaho Council of Teachers of English and was nominated as Idaho English Teacher of the Year.
Lexie was also active in AAUW, Junior Achievement; she served on the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 9 years. She received from the Chamber both the Service to the Community Award and the Service to the Chamber Award. Lexie is a member of Rotary and serves on the Board of Directors for the City Club of Idaho Falls. She is also an active member of the Idaho Falls Symphony fund raising committee.
Aside from family and friends, Lexie’s greatest love is given to ARTI. She is so proud of what the group has accomplished. The ARTI building on Broadway is going to be one of the jewels of downtown Idaho Falls. She feels that ARTI is becoming a stronger part of the community every year.
Lexie does, of course, love being on stage. She is proud to have been part of ARTI’s production of The Laramie Project. Some of her other favorite appearances were Bunny in The Gay Deceiver, Mag in The Beauty Queen of Lennanne, Virginia in Lie, Cheat and Genuflect, Ouiser in Steel Magnolias and Ethel in On Golden Pond.
Lexie’s husband, Alan, lives in Kennewick, Washington. They have two grown children and two incorrigible black labs, Baghdad and Imus.
